The Saudi Ophthalmological Society (SOS) deliver the SOS Best Research Project Award each year which carries SR10,000 and a Certificate.
- The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the Annual Conference.
- The topic of the research project should be one of the eye diseases pertinent to the Arab World
- The applicant must be a member of the Saudi Ophthalmological Society and the principal investigator should be an ophthalmologist
- The research project must have been published later than 2014, OR, have been accepted for publication in Saudi Journal of Ophthalmology (preferable) OR any other peer-reviewed ophthalmic journal.
This award was established to honor one of the distinguished speakers who present his/her lecture based on ones latest research having trained a number of ophthalmologists who practice throughout the world and developed institutions that will continue ophthalmic research for the years to come. We honor many well known Eye Physicians during our annual conferences every year.
During the annual symposium this award is presented to a POB invited International Guest Speaker for exceptional or significant service to prevention of blindness globally and regionally.
